After a Feishu channel is enabled, users who can contact the bot can ask questions by default. To restrict access, enable the Agent allowlist and configure person profiles and roles for Feishu users.
Before you begin
- Permissions: changing channels and person authorizations requires project owner or administrator permissions.
- Prerequisite: the Agent has enabled its Feishu channel (App ID and App Secret have been entered and saved in “Credential configuration”). Without an enabled channel, the “People permissions” section does not appear under “Channels.”
- Feishu: the allowlist matches by user_id. The Feishu application must enable
contact:user.employee_id:readonly. When the allowlist is on but user_id cannot be obtained, messages are rejected during identity recognition and do not enter pending approval. - Entry: left main navigation → “More” → open the target Agent → top “Channels” tab.
Steps
Confirm that the Feishu channel is enabled
Select “Feishu” in the “Platform” dropdown on “Channels.” Enter credentials on first activation: App ID and App Secret are required when creating a channel; Encrypt Key and Verification Token are optional. When editing credentials, the form fills in the saved configuration, required fields still cannot be blank, and saving updates the whole credential set. Click “Save” after filling it in; Feishu is enabled only after saving succeeds. Cancel keeps the previous platform.
Choose whether to enable deep reasoning
“General configuration” has a deep reasoning switch, described as suitable for complex tasks with longer model reasoning. It is off by default, which means fast mode. Enabling it gives subsequent channel questions longer reasoning time for more reliable complex analysis. The switch saves immediately and affects subsequent questions.
Enter channel preferences
The “Channel preferences” text box sets response preferences for this channel, such as giving conclusions first and answering in concise Chinese. It supports up to 1024 characters with a counter at the lower right. It saves when you leave the input, and applies to every turn of questions in this channel.
Enable the allowlist
The “People permissions” section appears below only after saving the channel. Its Enable allowlist switch is at the top, with status-dependent guidance: when off, any Feishu user who can contact the bot can ask data questions; when on, only allowlisted people can access it. When off, the entire list below is grayed out and unavailable, with a message that the allowlist is disabled and everyone can access it.
Add people and roles to the allowlist
Click “Add person” to open “Add person to Agent allowlist,” select a person and role, then click “Authorize.” If no role is selected, the dropdown shows “Do not select any role” and explains that the user defaults to the data Agent's access scope, including all data configured for it. After authorization, the Role column labels such entries as full access when no role is specified. If a role has required variables, the dialog requires values such as dept_id before submission.
Create a profile from Pending approval
When the allowlist is enabled, questions from identified users who have no profile or authorization are rejected and appear in the “Pending approval” tab on “People.” Each record shows an avatar, name (or user_id if unavailable), status badge, and “Feishu” label on the left, with user_id below. The three columns on the right are contact information, requested access, and latest request; the far right has “Reject” and “Create profile / Link” (or “Assign permissions” for an existing profile).
Click “Create profile / Link” to open a dialog such as “Create a profile for Zhang San.” “Feishu account information” at the top shows avatar, name, email, phone, and user_id. Below, choose “Create new person profile” (name, email, and phone are prefilled) or “Link to an existing person” (search existing profiles by name). Click “Create profile” to finish.
Assign a role
After profile creation, the permission assignment dialog opens with a title such as “Assign Store Operations Analyst permissions to Zhang San.” Select a role and click “Authorize,” or “Assign later” to postpone. After this step, this Feishu user's next question is allowed according to the role's rules.
Revoke or remove
- Revoke access to one Agent only: in its “Channels” → “People permissions,” click the record's delete icon on the right; the confirmation button is “Remove.”
- Remove the person entirely: person details → “Dangerous operations” → “Delete person.” Confirming clears related bindings and authorizations together; with the allowlist enabled, future questions return to “Pending approval.”
Key constraints
| Item | Value or default | Where to change it |
|---|---|---|
| Enable allowlist | Off by default; when off, any Feishu user who can contact the bot can ask data questions | Agent details → “Channels” → “People permissions” |
| Deep reasoning | Off by default (fast mode) | Agent details → “Channels” → “General configuration” |
| Channel preferences | Up to 1024 characters; blank by default | Agent details → “Channels” → “General configuration” |
| App ID, App Secret | Required when creating a channel | “Channels” → “Credential configuration” |
| Encrypt Key, Verification Token | Optional | “Channels” → “Credential configuration” |
| Person-to-role mapping | One authorization per person, each with its own set of role variables | “People permissions” → “Add person” |
| No specified role | Full access within the Agent's own data scope | Leave the role blank in “Add person” |
| Disable channel | Stop receiving new messages; keep Feishu credentials and platform configuration | Choose “Disabled” under “Channels” → “Platform” |
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Identifying condition | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| Question rejected with no access and information submitted for administrator approval | This Feishu user_id has no person profile or channel binding in AskTable | “People” → “Pending approval” → “Create profile / Link,” followed by “Assign permissions” |
| Question rejected as unauthorized to access this Agent | A profile exists but is missing from this Agent's allowlist | Add it in the Agent's “Channels” → “People permissions” → “Add person” |
| Question rejected because the Feishu application lacks contact:user.employee_id:readonly | The permission is missing, so user_id cannot be obtained from messages; this does not enter “Pending approval” | Add the permission in Feishu Open Platform, resubmit the application version, and ask the user to retry |
| Question rejected because the Agent was deleted or is unavailable | The Agent bound to the channel was deleted | Rebind the channel or disable it |
| Contact information in “Pending approval” says Not provided | Feishu did not return email or phone | Add address book user information reading permissions in Feishu Open Platform, publish a new version, and ask the user to send a question to refresh |
| The group still receives answers using the old scope after authorization changes | The user's previous message preceded the change and an old conversation was reused | Ask them to send another message so the system rebuilds the conversation; authorization changes clear Feishu conversations under this Agent |
| Everyone can ask after the allowlist is turned off | Enable allowlist is off and the section says it is disabled | Turn it on, then “Add person” for each user |
| No one can ask after the allowlist is turned on | Enable allowlist is on, but the list is empty and says no people have been authorized | Add authorizations with “Add person” |
| Channel connection status is abnormal | The current platform is not Connected; connection health, message processing, and reply delivery are different states | Click “Refresh” to check again and verify credentials and application version; see Feishu integration troubleshooting for specific message failures |
