AskTable separates organization invitations from project membership changes. An organization invitation may target someone who has not registered and reserves member capacity when created. Project admins add registered users immediately. Public links do not reserve capacity and check the limit when used.

Organization invitations

A direct invitation targets a sign-in identifier: a phone number in mainland-China Cloud, or an email address in global Cloud and self-hosted deployments.
  • It expires after 7 days.
  • It can be accepted once.
  • It can target someone who has not registered yet.
  • AskTable matches a still-valid invitation after that person signs up.
Owners can invite Admins, Billing Admins, Members, or Guests. Admins can invite Members or Guests. A pending person appears in the member directory immediately and reserves member capacity, except for Billing Admin. Revoking or expiring the invitation releases that capacity; acceptance converts the reservation into active usage without counting twice. Public links do not expire automatically. They remain valid until an administrator disables or resets them. The organization public link is off by default. Enable it in Member management to generate a link. Disabling it invalidates the current URL immediately. The URL plus Copy and Reset actions appear only while enabled; resetting generates a new URL and invalidates the old one. The project public link remains in project settings and always grants project MEMBER. For ADMIN, a project owner/admin can immediately add a registered user with that role, or change the role after the person joins.

Add a project member

Project owners and admins can enter a full email address or phone number to find a registered AskTable user exactly. AskTable does not expose a fuzzy user directory and does not create pending project invitations for unregistered identities.
  • An active organization member keeps their organization role and receives only the explicit project role.
  • A registered user outside the organization immediately becomes an organization Guest and joins the project.
  • A deactivated member is reactivated as a Guest before joining.
  • A Billing Admin cannot be added as a project member.
The operation is atomic. If member capacity is full, neither an organization membership nor a project role is created.

Accept an invitation

1

Open the invitation

Accept an organization invitation in the app, or open a public URL in your browser.
2

Authenticate

Sign in, or switch to registration if you do not have an account. Email sign-in, registration, SSO, phone binding, and profile onboarding all preserve the full URL.
3

Join

AskTable automatically accepts the public link after authentication. An organization link opens the organization; a project link opens the target project. No extra confirmation is required.
If an active member opens their organization’s public link, AskTable preserves their role, does not count them twice, opens the organization, and shows that they have already joined. Invalid, disabled, reset, or capacity-blocked links remain on an error screen with a manual retry action.
This release provides in-app organization invitations and copyable public links. It does not send invitation emails or SMS messages.
