Start Conversation
Conversation is the core feature of AskTable. Simply describe your question in natural language, and the AI will automatically analyze the data and return results.
1. Enter Conversation
Click [Conversation] in the left navigation bar to enter the conversation page.

The starter page includes the following areas:
- Left sidebar — [New Conversation] button, [Data Agents], [Skills], [Data Artifacts] entries, and recent conversation list
- Feature cards — Showcasing AskTable's core capabilities (data security, usage habits, multi-platform integration, multiple output forms)
- Capability tags — Attribution analysis, report generation, business Skill extraction, data extraction, result sharing, dashboard creation, decision analysis
- Input box — Supports keyboard and voice input, defaults to voice mode
- Agent selection — Available data agents are shown at the bottom; click one to start a conversation directly
2. Ask Directly
No configuration needed, just type your question in the input box. The system can access all data sources in the project by default.
Input methods:
- Voice input (default) — Click the microphone button or hold the spacebar to speak, release to send
- Keyboard input — Click "Switch to keyboard" to type, press Enter to send (Shift+Enter for new line)
- File drag — Drag Excel / CSV files into the page to ask questions based on file content
Example questions:
- "What are this month's sales?"
- "How is user growth trending across regions?"
- "Help me analyze the 2024 electricity data for a city power company"
3. View Results
The AI will understand your question, query the data automatically, and return an analysis report.

Results include:
- Analysis report — Key observations and insights
- Charts — Automatically generated visualizations showing data trends
- Data details — Right panel shows the full data table, switchable between table/chart views
- Multi-turn conversation — Continue asking follow-up questions based on context, no need to repeat background info
4. Advanced Operations
Specify Data Source
Click the + button at the bottom-left of the input box to select specific data sources or data agents, narrowing the query scope. If not selected, all data is used by default.
View Conversation History
The "Recents" section in the left sidebar shows your recent conversations. Click one to restore its context.
New Conversation
Click [New Conversation] at the top of the left sidebar to start a fresh conversation.
